Jobseeker FAQ Answers 1. Is NewJobDirect a job board? Not at all. NewJobDirect is a search engine in the same vein as Yahoo, Alta Vista and Google. The difference being that it indexes only the job/employment pages of its clients' websites. This means that people looking for jobs are given the opportunity to go directly to recruiting companies without the need to deal with an agent. 2. Do I need to pay anything to use NewJobDirect? NewJobDirect is free to all people who wish to use it to search its customers' corporate websites. 3. Do I need to register to use this site? No. NewJobDirect is not an introductory service and does not promote jobseekers to clients, therefore registration is unnecessary. The aim of this website is to give jobseekers the power to find jobs themselves. 4. How do I obtain help? Guidance on using this search engine may be found on the how to page. If this does not answer your question you may contact us. 5. What forms of search can I perform? Detailed search information may be found on the how to page. 6. What types of job will I find on NewJobDirect? The beauty of NewJobDirect is that it can list any type of job across any industry sector - it all depends on which companies wish to have their vacancies indexed. 7. What companies will I find on NewJobDirect? All sorts. NewJobDirect does not distinguish between companies - private or public sector, multinational or local. 8. How do you decide which companies to include in your search engine? We don't make that decision. Any company is free to use our service. 9. Are search results ranked or weighted in any way? Search results are ranked only in accordance of relevace to the search criteria. NewJobDirect does not artificially weight or rank individual companies or vacancies. 10. How do I apply for a job through NewJobDirect? You do not apply through NewJobDirect. Once you have found suitable opportunities through our searches you actually view them on the respective company websites and make your application according to the companies' own application criteria/process.

Company FAQ Answers 1. How do I get my company's vacancies listed on NewJobDirect? Simply go to our contact page and send us a request. 2. Is NewJobDirect a free service to companies? Yes, NewJobDirect is currently free to use. 3. Is NewJobDirect a free service for registered charities? Yes. 4. How does NewJobDirect differ from job boards? NewJobDirect is vastly different from job boards. Whilst most job boards offer a valuable and complete service it can become a cumbersome - and sometimes expensive - task to keep adding vacancies to different boards. With NewJobDirect there is no administration required after sign-up other than to upload vacancies to your corporate website. 5. What are the benefits to a company in using NewJobDirect? Firstly, NewJobDirect offers clients an alternative and new way to attract potential employees directly - this should be enough but it offers more: it is a way to reduce a company's cost-per-hire; it reduces the dependency on agencies; it enables a company to promote itself to more people through the information it already has posted on its website and it opens up a company's vacancies to jobseekers from a very wide range of different commercial backgrounds. NewJobDirect will be of particular benefit to companies who are not nationally recognised, by spreading their name to a wider jobseeking audience. 6. What is the best way to contact you? Please use our contact form. 7. How often do you refresh your vacancy listings? Currently we re-index sites every 7 days. Therefore, new companies and the new vacancies from exisiting companies will be added every week. We may also index new company sites in between main index dates. 8. In what way will my company's vacancies be compared to other vacancies in search results? Search results are ranked only in accordance of relevace to the search criteria. NewJobDirect does not artificially weight or rank individual companies or vacancies. 9. What data types are you able to index? Currently we are able to index html pages, text files, Word documents (.doc, .rtf) & .pdf documents. We cannot index database-driven vacancy search systems. 10. How will jobseekers be able to search for my company's vacancies on a geographical basis? As long as you include this information in the vacancy description that appears on your website jobseekers will be able to search it. It is best, therefore, to include any information you and the jobseeker may consider relevant.
